As the name suggests, bacon is king on the menu and you can order the bacon styx sampler, a variety of house-cured bacon in various flavors. Other popular breakfast dishes are brioche French toast with strawberry coulis and the Josh-Hash, a pileup of steak, hash browns, gravy with mushrooms, and chipotle fried onions topped with a fried egg and served on a biscuit.

At night, when it’s known as Berryhill, try the pan-roasted catfish with cheesy grits and fried okra or the bacon hush puppy croquetas. It is a unique blend and one you will be telling all of your friends about.

Azteca Mexican Grill

Boise foodies who loved the Azteca taco truck were psyched when it went brick and mortar.

You’ll find several of the same affordable Mexican entrees from the taco truck, which is still cruising around Boise. But now that Azteca is a Boise restaurant, there is a larger menu to satisfy the diners in this large eatery.

Being from Mexico City, owner Hurtado brings his take on the pambazo sandwich, a torta-like creation containing mashed potatoes, chorizo, salsa verde, onion, cilantro, and cream cheese on a roll covered with hot sauce and grilled on a scorching flat-top. Other noteworthy choices include egg-battered chile rellenos and the carnitas plate.
